Rev. Jeremy Lawson

PREACHER

Rev. Jeremy Lawson is the Senior Pastor of Athens First United Methodist Church in Athens, GA. Born and raised in Enfield, CT, he graduated from Southern Connecticut State University before earning a Master of Divinity degree from The Candler School of Theology at Emory University. Since 2004, he has served in various roles within the North Georgia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, including churches in Atlanta, Suwanee, Clayton, Dacula, and Athens. Jeremy and his wife Sharon have been married since 2003 and have three children: Anna, James, and Luke.

Rev. Dr. JOHN BEYERS

PREACHER, SUNDAY EVENING

Rev. Dr. John Beyers is the founding Senior Minister of Wesley Methodist Church in LaGrange, GA, which chartered in October 2023 with 331 members. He also serves as a Presiding Elder in the North Georgia Conference of the Global Methodist Church. With a passion for Wesleyan theology and Methodist history, John has taught seminars in several countries across South America and Europe. He holds leadership roles on numerous boards and committees within the Global Methodist Church and was elected as a delegate to the denomination's Convening General Conference in San Jose, Costa Rica. John is an Eagle Scout and the recipient of the Harry Denman Evangelism Award.

REV. JEFF MARTIN

PREACHER

Rev. Jeff Martin serves as the Lead Pastor of Redeemer Community Church in Johnson City, TN. A native of Texas, he holds degrees from Texas Tech University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jeff began his full-time ministry as an associate pastor in Covington, where he met his wife Lucy. They married in 2015 and have three children: Ruthie, Whit, and Bentley. Under Jeff's leadership since 2015, Redeemer Community Church has grown into a thriving non-denominational congregation known for its unique "in the round" worship services and commitment to serving the local community.

Dr. JOEL SINGLETON

MUSIC MINISTER

Dr. Joel Singleton has served as the Associate Pastor and Minister of Music at Rutledge Baptist Church in Rutledge, GA since 2017. A native of Georgia, he holds degrees in music and education from Georgia College & State University, Columbus State University, Auburn University, and Liberty University. In addition to his pastoral role, Joel has been a public school choral director and music teacher since 2001, currently at Monroe Area High School and previously at Eastside High School in Covington.

Joel also directs the Cumberland Valley School of Gospel Music, an organization dedicated to promoting gospel and southern gospel music education. He and his wife Lewissa reside in Social Circle, GA with their two children, Sutton and Lawson.

Alice Walker & Becky RamseY

DUO-PIANISTS

Alice Walker and Becky Ramsey, identical twins, are originally from Atlanta. They both hold BA degrees from Agnes Scott College, and have earned two certifications from the American Guild of Organists, Colleague and Associate (CAGO). Playing duets together since the age of five, they have been pianists at Salem Campground since 1971.

Alice is Organist and Director of the Ambassador Choir and Handbell Choir at First Presbyterian Church, Covington, where she is also Moderator of Presbyterian Women.

Becky is Director of Music for Seniors at Covington First Methodist Church, Director of Spiritual Growth for United women of Faith, and Sunday School Teacher for Adults.

Alice and Becky are Co-Founders and Co-Directors of the Singing Ambassadors Choir of Covington.

JOSH Reaves

YOUTH DIRECTOR

Josh (Lazrus) Reaves is a full-time Christian streamer who’s been in and around student ministry for the last 16 years. Currently, Josh is partnering with the Christian Ministry Alliance on a groundbreaking initiative to empower Christian gamers and streamers as fully funded digital missionaries, providing them with the support and resources to spread the Gospel online. He is married to Rebecca Reaves and they have two beautiful children: Maverick and Nova.

SHANNON TIDWELL

YOUTH DIRECTOR

Outside of Salem, Shannon works full-time in the telecommunications and mobile networking industry, is a wife and mother, and loves the outdoors. However her greatest passion is working with children and youth. She has served in that ministry for nine years at Clear Creek Church of Christ, where she has been a member for over 20 years, and is excited to be back as Youth Director for her third year!

Katie TIDWELL

ASSISTANT YOUTH DIRECTOR

Katie Tidwell is a recent graduate of Chattanooga High Center for the Creative Arts in Chattanooga, TN. She will be attending Belmont University in the Fall, where she is planning to study Psychological Science. She is a lifelong member of Clear Creek Church of Christ where she is active with her youth group and serves on the praise team. She enjoys volunteering with children through the Children’s Ministry, has led VBS on mission trips, directed children’s musicals, and more. Katie has attended Salem Camp Meeting her entire life, and is excited to work with the youth this year!
